Sawickipedia: Big online publishers have to stop with the myth that the proliferation of ad networks has somehow caused the great decline in ad prices. Ad networks are not the boogie man laying waste to the online ad landscape. What has caused the decline in ad prices is the lack of meta data to help advertisers and publishers better differentiate their inventory. Without data to show that one impression is the equivalent of grade A organic sirloin beef it looks just pet food quality beef. The sooner big pubs embrance data, then the sooner they start making more money.
